[Scorpion 5] Reflection Decision

Lt. Lisa Fletcher
Chief Diplomatic Officer
USS Scorpion
<Before Repairs>

Lisa stood by the window of her rented Condo and stared up at the skies. Somewhere, hovering over San Francisco, Captain Aaron Golding was in a world of trouble.  She couldn't understand it. Why would such a grounded man just snap? Taking a breath, she lifted the glass of whiskey to her lips and took a small sip. She hated the taste but she always kept a bottle in her drawer for dire situations. Her captain snapping and killing half a population, a few of his crew and being court marshalled counted as dire.

With another sip, she walked away from the window and flopped into a sofa. She picked up the padd they'd delivered to her regarding where she would be going next. How could they already have made a decision?  The trial wasn't over yet...it had barely begun. What was happening?

Taking a breath, she activated it, put her code in and glared at the information.

Attention: Lt. Lisa Fletcher
We have made a decision regarding your new placement. We took in consideration your length of service on board the USS Scorpion under Captain Aaron Golding. We now give you the choice to be transfered to the USS Cormac or remain on board the USS Scorpion under a new commander. We require your reply in seventy two hours or the decision will be made for you.

Yours truly,
Admiral Nathan Keswick

Lisa rolled her eyes like an insolent teenager.  It wasnt much of a choice. It felt almost like they were forcing her to leave the Scorpion.  Lifting her legs to the coffee table, she read the note once more before tapping the padd lightly against her knee. She didnt want to leave the Scorpion. It was her home. How could they ask her to just pick up and leave when the crew needed her more than ever?

Easing from the seat, she walked over to the communication console in the far side and sat.  she entered the coordinates and waited.  Soon the Starfleet insignia was replaced with Admiral Keswick's face.  His bushy brows were arched as in surprise. But his dim green eyes were what really left an impression on her.

"Admiral. Lt. Fletcher, Lisa, USS Scorpion."

"Ahh Miss, Fletcher. I take it you have recieved or messsage. Have you made a decision."

"Yes sir."

"And?"

"I have elected to remain a part of the Crew of the USS Scorpion. It is my home and I not wish to leave them now."

The admiral nodded. "Duely noted Lt. We have not decided when the Scorpion will be leaving starbase omega as of yet, so enjoy your shore leave."

"I don't see how that is possible sir, but I will try."

The admiral nodded again with a tight smile before her screen returned to the starfleet insignia.

"Good-bye to you too," Lisa muttered, turn in her chair.
