"Sorry Evaristo," His Captain Lia Nelse a Trill who had been Dante's commanding officer for the past 3 years. "That's the way it goes when you do good work you get noticed I put you in for a promotion which you wanted and look what it got you."
Dante shook his head he couldn't believe this was happening, "But Command Ma'am? I thought that I could at least stay as the Chief Engineer rather then go on and become a Command officer...I am not fit for Command.."
"Admiral Belum disagrees Dante. What he sees is a smart capable individual that is able to handle Command and everything associated as such...that means everything you've been doing such as your pranks and things and making fun of Commander Goren is going to come back to haunt you." Nelse said with a grin as she sat back and gauged Dante's reaction.
Dante sighed and looked at her and then nodded, "Well I did want this promotion and though its not what I wanted...I'll go with it ma'am."
"Now that's showing Command abilities!" Nelse said and then told him, "You will have to pack up and move out within two days we'll be meeting with the U.S.S. Soval within that time and they will transport you to your assignment."
"Roger ma'am," Dante said standing then nodding to her and said, "I will inform my asst to take over till my replacement arrives.."
"Actually Dante, your asst is gonna be your replacement." Nelse said.
Dante grinned happily at this news, "Finally some good news for Cartwright."
"He was pretty excited or will be when I tell him or rather...Commander Evaristo when you tell him,"
Dante nodded, "I'll do so Ma'am thank you for letting me know."
"You're welcome Commander now you are dismissed." Nelse said as she watched Dante leave.
**A few hours later in Dante's Quarters**
Dante pulled out his bags and started to pack getting ready for his new adventure...
